New Hamburg Board of Trade Executive Meeting

January 3, 2008

Present: Paul Knowles, Lynne Mackie, Terry McIntosh, Doug Brenneman, Nigel Gordijk, Tom Hinz, Ed Lemont, David Seyler, and Audrey Cook

Regrets: Larry Zehr, Tim Bender

Ed Lemont made the motion that Audrey Cook be declared Secretary for the Board of Trade, seconded Tom Hinz. Carried

Minutes of the meeting of December 5 were circulated and after a recommendation that membership categories be further discussed the minutes were accepted as amended. This was by Terry McIntosh, seconded Nigel Gordijk.

The Financial Statements are not yet prepared for 2007 and Lynne expressed her preference to do this herself in the future and have them audited by a member of the Board. She and Ed will discuss this further and their recommendation will come to the next meeting.

The Dec. motion regarding membership was put back on the table. Reaction from members has been strong and generally negative to the proposal, so membership categories will remain the same as in 2007 with a raise in price of $10. in each category. Full membership will be $205 and Basic, $145 plus GST. The motion to pay as you go basis from last meeting was rescinded and the motion to follow previous years was made by David Seyler, seconded Lynne Mackie. Carried unanimously.

The budget was presented and discussed. Income was based on a modest membership estimate of 70 full and 30 basic members, plus equally modest fundraising numbers. Budget expenses were further discussed and accepted as presented. Acceptance of the budget was moved by Ed Lemont, seconded Terry McIntosh. Carried

There was a proposal to have a table set up at the January General Meeting and that invoices for memberships could be paid that evening. Dave will give Lynne a list of members; their membership statements will be e-mailed, and they will be informed by e-mail that their cheques would be welcomed Jan. 23rd.

The web page was deferred until the budget is accepted by the membership.

Waterwheel status - the executive committee is waiting to hear from Larry Zehr who is speaking to Junker Construction and Nith Valley Construction.

Meeting adjourned 7:40.
