New Hamburg Board of Trade General Membership Meeting

1. CALL TO ORDER: 7:00pm

2. 50/50 DRAW: $96.00 won by Terry McIntosh

3. GUEST SPEAKER: Harold Albrecht, Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Connestoga; introduced by David Seyler, thanked by Steve Wagler.

4. ADOPTION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES (General meeting Feb.27, 2008, and Executive meeting Mar. 12 2008): Dave Seyler, seconded by Lynne Mackie. Carried.

5. BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES: i) Members were encouraged to pay their membership fees. To date approximately 65 members had paid, of which 12 or 13 were basic memberships. ii) Golf Tournament: to date, half the holes have been sponsored, and available gold sponsorship has been taken. The tournament will accommodate 156 players.

6. Paul Knowles noted, concerning the ³Bridging the Gap² program, that the Township of Wilmot had contributed $2500 in 2005, thus fulfilling their pledge. However, in addition to the township¹s $250 sponsorship of a hole at the 2008 Golf Tournament, the Economic Development office has also contributed an additional $750 to held the Board cover the costs of the New Hamburg Buck program, since the Board paid for the full program but has never collected all pledges. The President expressed the Board of Trade¹s gratitude to the township, especially Economic Development Officer Howard O¹Krafka.

7. COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Financial Report: Lynne Mackie has presented this mont¹s financial balance sheet. A motion to accept the report made by John Hanson. Seconded by Ed Lemont. Carried.

8. NEW BUSINESS: Board of Trade Logo: Nigel Gordijk presented a fresh new logo for the New Hamburg Board of Trade. A motion to adopt the new logo tabled by Kristen Hahn. Seconded by Tom Hinz. Carried.

9. Meeting was adjourned at 9 p.m.
