Joe Figleomeni of Dundee Wealth Management was our member/presenter for the evening and gave us a short introduction of himself and his business.
Minutes from the previous General Meeting and 2 Executive Meetings were approved as circulated by Lynn Mackie, second Ed Lemont.
Lynn gave a brief finance report. As of January '08 there was a total of $8,441. in the bank. This compares to the present total of $29,952. The 2009 budget will be presented at the February meeting.
A brief update on the Flood Relief happenings were given by President Paul. There is now $40,000. in actual monies in the bank with more expected. The TD bank is operating the fund as a no cost/no fee account. Our MP, MPP, their offices and representatives, are actively involved, assisting us in advertising costs as well as raising money. A more detailed report will be given to the members as things begin to unfold.
We were reminded of the February meeting at which the New Hamburg bypass will be discussed. There are still several issues to be addressed and members are encouraged to come and bring a potential member or a guest to this very important meeting.
President Paul advised the members that there was a concern with welcome signs at various entrances to New Hamburg. He asked for a volunteer to work with service groups to co-ordinate the replacement of these signs.
Members were reminded to pay their membership dues for 2009. As well, volunteers and a co-coordinator are needed for the Rubber Duck Race on July 1, 2009.
With no new business the meeting was moved adjourned by Nigel at 8:20 PM. |
